Capitalization in world,
fueled the economic development.
Fools stuck to farms,
smart-asses went for Industrial Investment.
Necessity gave birth to invention,
while luxury was born of leisure.
Metal crowded the earth of dirt and stone,
while stress mounted instead of peace and pleasure.
Gas, Coal and Oil pumped out,
rendering Earth a hollow globe.
Farms, fields and forests wiped out,
turning the green planet to color of barren brown slope.
Business growing with,
new inventions being developed.
Sensex rising,
fueled by Earth's bones and blood.
Mother Earth, harbinger of all life,
sustains all damages and still smiles.
Year after year, grows the strain,
yet she smiles, yet she smiles, yet she smiles.
The day is not far,
when mother looses her power.
The day of end of this boon,
the day of all life's DOOM!

Nice poem Varun . As it reminds me of a saying , that the optimists say "this is the best world ,we could ever have" and the pesimist scared to death after hearing that.
But well always look for a rising sun ,human race always has and shall ,so the day of doom shall come welcomed ;)
Really nice thought over there and as always very good rhyming. Most of the environment related poetry seem to be very didactic and it was good to read some aberration to the usual.
